Our Eggbutt Draft Bits are all solid stainless steel unless otherwise noted. The Eggbutt Bit is designed to stop the horse's lips from getting pinched by the bit. It ensures that the bit will remain fixed an will allow no up-and-down movement.

Side pieces are stainless steel oval shaped rings 4" high x 3" wide that will not normally pull through the mouth. For a well behaved draft, this is a milder bit than the snaffle. The link softens the nutcracker effect of the snaffle mouth to their tongue.

This egg butt snaffle has a curved mouth and is part of the new generation of horse bits. Designed for horse comfort,the egg butt protects the lips from possible pinching. The curved mouth is shaped over the horse's tongue and the cuprium alloy wafer is a flavor that horses love. Our SW Bits are made of the world's finest 18-8 (chromium/nickel) stainless steel. This alloy is best for bits because it extremely strong and resists salt and acids in saliva, and will never rust or spot. Surgical quality finish.
When sizing this bit, allow extra length for the curve. Most horses require an additional 1/4".
The eggbutt is 3 1/4" high and 2 3/4" across. The mouth at the side edge is 1/2"(14mm) thick.
